The Opportunity

The Hume Home Based Care program provides Complex, Intensive and General Home Based Care for children and young people who are unable to live with their own families. With a solid focus on strengthening our program through recruitment, training, support and quality assurance mechanisms, the Assessment Practitioner will undertake the assessments of prospective foster carers and review of accredited carers.  There is also a requirement to provide pre-assessment training to prospective carers as required.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have an appropriate bachelor degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline. You will have strong communication skills, with a well-developed knowledge of trauma and attachment theories, child development and the welfare sector. You will have the ability to work comfortably in an unstructured environment whilst maintaining high professional standards. Experience in conducting foster care assessments would be desirable.
