About the role:

Berry Street’s Northern Home Based Care Program provides complex, intensive and general Home Based Care for children and young people who are unable to live with their own families. The Senior Manager of Home Based Care works with over 60 foster care households.

This role also holds responsibility for the Lead Tenant program and the Targeted Care Package program which Berry Street is actively trying to grow.

The position positively leads, coaches and mentors a team of dedicated staff, to assist families to strengthen their parenting capacity with the ultimate aim of ensuring our clients are in a safe, nurturing and stable environment.

About you:

You hold previous experience in the management and leadership of Out of Home Care programs (a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity).

You understand the statutory and Child Safe environment we operate within and will ensure the program can respond to the changing needs of Out of Home Care.

You have previous experience in:

  • Monitoring demand for service,
  • Liaising with key stakeholders (including government departments and other statutory bodies)
  • Program innovation
  • Compliance and audit requirements within the Out of Home Care sector
  • You will also promote a high quality service through recruitment and staff development systems

The successful applicant will have experience delivering and managing programs in the community sector, in particular statutory clients and a tertiary qualification in social work, welfare or a related social science.
