About the role:

In recognition of the needs of young people leaving the OoHC system in the Goulburn Area, Berry Street in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services, have committed to a project (Better Futures) designed to better prepare young people for their transition to independence. This will be achieved via service delivery utilising a suite of resources within a Case Support, Development Coach framework.

About you:

The Development Coach – Better Futures will require knowledge of the areas in one or more of the following areas;

  • Child Youth and Family - Residential Care
  • Child Youth and Family – Home Based Care
  • Community and social welfare programs
  • Education and learning, including vocational education
  • Homelessness.

You will work with other professionals to actively engage with these highly vulnerable young people providing flexible, innovative outcomes that address the barriers faced by young people who have been in the care system.

You will have experience providing individual case development/development coach, outreach and the provision of information that supports young people into training and employment as part of their leaving care plan.

You will ideally hold a tertiary qualification in youth, welfare, social work or related field, however unqualified applicants with demonstrated appropriate experience with youth / young people will be considered.
