The Berry Street School caters for young people primarily aged 12 to 18 years who have become disengaged from mainstream education. The school currently has 4 campuses at Noble Park, Morwell, Shepparton and Ballarat. Each campus delivers the Trauma-informed Positive Education model. The school offers an adaptation of the National Curriculum for years 7-10 and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). The Morwell Campus has an enrolment of approximately 65 students.
The Berry Street School works from our Berry Street Model of Education, which encompasses a structured vision of wellbeing in the school community including the support of education case-management for each of our students. All students have an individual education plan encompassing holistic support for all learning activities.
We are seeking a passionate VCAL Teacher to join our friendly team at our Morwell Campus. This role requires the incumbent to adapt a flexible learning environment, be creative and innovative in engaging our young people and lead from a strengths based perspective. Our students have complex educational needs and need your expertise to achieve their educational goals and outcomes.
To be successful in the role, you will be an experienced teacher with a tertiary qualification in Teaching, hold a current VIT registration and have effective organisational and administrative skills. You will have experience in developing and implementing individual learning plans and a sound understanding of VCAL curriculum.
